Interior Designer in Behala, Kolkata
Family-focused interiors for Behala's houses and apartments, from renovations of older homes to complete new fit-outs.
Behala is a large residential area in south-west Kolkata with a long-settled community, many family-owned houses and a growing number of newer apartment buildings.
Interior design for Behala homes and businesses
Homes here are often lived-in family properties that have evolved over decades, sometimes shared by several generations. Typical projects include updating the kitchen and bathrooms, adding wardrobes and storage, reorganising the living area and refreshing the whole house with new flooring, lighting and paint.
Newer apartments in the area need the usual full-home treatment, with practical layouts and storage. We tailor each project to the size of the family and its way of life, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all package.
Designing in Behala: what to keep in mind
Older houses may have different floor levels, thick walls and traditional layouts. Modernising these needs a proper survey of structure and services before any design is finalised.
Monsoon waterlogging in parts of the area makes waterproofing and the choice of lower-level materials, such as ground-floor flooring and cabinetry, especially important.
